Founded in 1992 by David Heitsman, Fortress Forwarders has dedicated 33+ years to providing reliable and efficient transportation solutions in Canada and the USA. It all began by calling clients & booking loads from his mothers kitchen table. David has led Fortress Forwarders into a thriving business built on hard work and a commitment to serving clients with excellence.​

As of November 2025, the ownership of Fortress Forwarders has been transferred to Marcella and Michael Dauncey. Marcella has been a proud employee of Fortress Forwarders since 2016. During her time, she has taken on various roles & responsibilities which have been essential to the company’s success. What David Heitsman started, Marcella plans to continue building upon the same foundation of honesty, hard work, and excellence. Her genuine care, and the relationship with each client, inspires her to provide the best customer service no matter how big or little the job is.
