Founded in 1992 by David Heitsman, Fortress Forwarders has dedicated 33+ years to providing reliable and efficient transportation solutions in Canada and the USA. It all began by calling clients & booking loads from his mothers kitchen table. David has led Fortress Forwarders into a thriving business built on hard work and a commitment to serving clients with excellence.​

As of November, 2025, the ownership of Fortress Forwarders has been transferred to Marcella and Michael Dauncey. What David Heitsman started, Marcella plans to build upon that legacy. Marcella has been a proud employee of Fortress Forwarders since 2016. During her time, she has taken on various roles & responsibilities which have been essential to the company’s success. Her genuine care and the relationships with each client inspires her to give the best customer service and this will always be the foundation moving forward.
