Founded in 1992 by David Heitsman, Fortress Forwarders began with a simple phone and calls made from his mother’s kitchen table. Through 33+ years of hard work and dedication to excellence, David built a thriving business on the values of honesty, reliability, and genuine customer care.

Our Story. From Kitchen Table to Trusted Partner.

In November 2025, ownership transitioned to Marcella and Michael Dauncey. Marcella joined the team in 2016 and has been instrumental to the company’s success. As a woman-owned business, she’s building on David’s foundation—honoring the same commitment to personalized service, transparent communication, and treating every shipment like it matters.

What started at a kitchen table now moves over 800 loads annually across Canada and the USA, but we’ve never lost sight of what made us successful: genuine relationships and doing right by our customers.
